"Political correctness" is slowly robbing us of our individuality. We now have to conform in order to not be different. Well, I for one, AM different....I do not go out of my way to insult anyone, but I am NOT going to sublimate my own opinions and beliefs just to fit in...I will say "Merry Christmas" and have a Christmas tree, I will be proud to stand and salute our flag, on Independence Day, and any other day I so choose. I will quietly and firmly stand by my belief in Jesus Christ as my savior. And I will support YOUR rights to agree or disagree with me...It's what makes this such a great country in which to live.

it is not incorrect to have an opinion. as a remember of actuality just about every person does, one way or the different. the difficulty with EXPRESSING one's opinion at the instant is the liberty of speech stiffing laptop circulate. So screw laptop. i'm no longer loopy with reference to the standard public show the two. or maybe however i'm massively outvoted, i'm no longer loopy approximately 2 ladies kissing the two! And to circulate even further, public reflects of love between and guy and a woman must be saved to a tasteful point to boot. no remember what's accomplished, this is only impossible to legislate public approval or know.

You are correct, he should have the right to give his opinion, and I should have the right to give my opinion that he is an immoral idiot. However, we live in a society were it is thought that someone being offended, is tantamount to them being physically injured, which is ridiculous. People are not injured by being offended by hearing an opposing point of view. We all need to grow some thicker skin for the sake of our society.

I suspect that our society has become so inundated with the fear of losing's one's job, or becoming a pariah for not being "politcally correct" that many public people are just not willing to express thier opinions (at least not deliberately).
I applaud General Pace for standing on his own convictions. I also applaud him for re-affirming the Military's don't ask, don't tell policy, even though he may not agree with other's lifestyle choices.

One should not have to apologize for having an opinion.
I however am not a big fan of unsolicited opinion.
If I did not ask you about how you feel about something , keep it to yourself , as I do not live my life for the opinion of other's.
"Just the facts mam".

Let me quote from a book: "Giving advice in the real sense means making yourself unnecessary. " Actually people can't give good opinions because they do not want to make themselves unnecessary. Rather, they want to make you dependent on you. So get liberated. Learn not to depend on others' opinions. Rather, have them feel ready to help you willingly. Here's how:

opinions are like a** holes everyone has one. if someone asks for your opinion then give it to them. if they disagree then so be it. if everyone agreed with each other and wore the same clothes and had the same color hair and on and on and on this world would be a very boring place! that's my opinion. :)

I totally agree with you.
Unfortunately, it seems that media and society are programmed to be scared of suggesting anything that is remotely offensive for fear of being politically incorrect because of upsetting minorities and others.
It totally pisses me off !!
