At first, you should look at the quality of the brand name printing - the trademark has never changed since the start (as far as I know).

Then you might look in a model catalogue or somewhere online to get a good picture of the watch in front of you. With a good eye, you should be able to see a fake.

But in fact there hardly are "real" fakes including the original brand name - mostly there are "look-alike" copies which are no fakes in the sense of unauthorized copies.
