im trying to sell my computer and i just wanted to see what its worth.
Dell desktop
optiplex gx240
Pentium(R)4 CPU 2.00 GHz
1.99 GHz, 512MB of RAM
80GB hard drive
windows XP-home edition version 2002
DVD/CD-RW Drive
Floppy drive
15" flat panel monitor
and standard keyboard and mouse.

i bought the tower used a yr and a half ago and the monitor new about a yr ago.

if at some point during your use of this computer you had sensitive information on it you should use a dod (department of defense) wipe application to make certain all of that information is gone forever. simply reformatting your drive will not do that.

these apps put zeros all over your drive and do it 7 times to make certain nothing is left undone.

even the people that work in the data recovery industry can't recover a disk after you have done this.

or you could simply replace the hard drive with a new or used one.

remember this: anything that has been deleted can be undeleted if it has not already been overwitten by other data.

$300 maximum. And you deffinately want to delete all the personal stuff from your hard drive.
