Amnesty author chosen via Bush to circulate GOP On November 13, 2006, President Bush named Florida Senator Mel Martinez using fact the chairman of the Republican national Committee (RNC) for the 2007-2008 election cycle. As stated in CongressDaily, Martinez informed newshounds that he will maintain his Senate seat at the same time as performing as party chairman. Assuming that he's shown via the RNC inner vote, Martinez will take over in January 2007, changing cutting-edge RNC chairman Ken Mehlman. In April 2006, whilst amnesty supporters ought to no longer get sufficient votes to bypass the centred visitor worker amnesty legislations recommended via the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Martinez, alongside with Senator Chuck Hagel (R-NE) presented the "Hagel-Martinez compromise" centred visitor worker amnesty legislations. This legislations, which created a tiered gadget for granting amnesty, become ultimately handed via the Senate as S.2611. the determination of Senator Martinez to run the RNC is seen via many analysts as inspired via the wish he will entice Hispanic electorate to the Republican party.

Totally lame!!! Bush is now a lame duck President but the Congress is lame by choice and fear. They don't want to rock the boat in case enough Americans get upset and don't re- elect them. But with the condition the world is in nowadays, this could be more dangerous than doing the wrong thing!! Bad leaders don't make bad choices - they make no choices!!

No. Most pathetic excuse for a president America has ever had, though. Congress compares favorably, if only by default.

The "do nothing" Republican Congress of 1948 was by far the worst. That's what Truman called them, and very few people will disagree.
