I'll tell you what i know you are.. .you are in the wrong section of Yahoo! Answers. Your quesion should not have been in the Astronomy seciton, but in the Religion and Spirituality section of the Society and Culture section. Or the entertainment and music > horoscopes section.
Astrology and Astronomy are by no means the same thing. Astrology is based on baseless speculations. Astronomy is based upon mathematical observations.
But, to answer your question... the reason some horoscopes say you're scorpio and some say you are sagitarius, is that constellations overlap each other enough that to say you were born under only one of them, when both of them were almost equally prominent in the sky, is rather ludicrous to try to determine.
I'm the same way with my birthday in January being on the verge of between Capricorn and Aquarius. So, instead of considering myself to be either just a goat or entirely of the sea, I tell everybody that I'm a sea goat.
You, could easily do the same thing and start telling everybody that you were born under the sign of the double stingers.

You are really Gullible.
Horoscopes and astrology are bunkum. Use a logical analysis -
Because the paths of the planets are governed by physics and are completely predicable it follows that if people's personalities and 'fortunes' are subject to relative planetary positions there is no such thing as free-will. It would mean that absolutely everything is pre-destined.
If you accept that premise then consider that pre-destination means that nothing you do can alter the future events.
A) There would no point in having a conscience because (by definition) you have no control over your actions or their consequences.
B) All religion becomes completely discredited because there's no point in urging you not to Sin if your 'planets' have determined your actions for you.
C) Because the planets have already determined your fate there would be no point in checking your horoscope.
D) You cannot use "it gives me an opportunity to change something if I'm warned". Logic says that if you can change it then it's not pre-destined and so cannot be predicted by planetary conjunctions.

First, learn the distinction between astrology and astronomy.
Astrology is the silly thing about horoscopes and all related fictions. Astrology is based on myths and legends and has no relation whatever to reality.
Astronomy is real science, and it is the study of the nature and motions of celestial objects. Its purpose is to learn about the nature of the real universe in real terms.
Astrology is of no use at all to anyone, except as entertainment. I think Yahoo!Answers has a section on astrology under "entertainment." Take my word for it; that's all it's useful for.
Just think logically for a minute, if you are able to. How could the positions and motions of celestial objects thousands or millions of light years away possibly have any effect on events and personalities here on earth? Obviously they can't have.
So please do yourself a favor, and get interested in the study of real science, and leave the superstitious pseudo-science behind you.

Although Astrology is based on outdated astrological charts, if you are born within a few days of 2 signs, you are supposed to be affected by both. Although with respect, I doubt 1/12th of the World live their life the same way.

If the TIME of your birth, was BEFORE NOON, consider yourself a "SCORPIO", - but, if you were born AFTER NOON, - you would be a "SAGITTARIUS"!
I don't think it makes any difference, to the PERSON you are, though!
