My husband and I are debating on getting an arm's reach co-sleeper for our twins (19 1/2 weeks pregnant) or if you guys had any other recommendations. I plan to breast feed so thats one reason we're thinking of getting one.

If you're uncomfortable with the idea of co-sleeping with the baby(ies) in your own bed, but still want the convenience of making night feedings easier and having the babies within close proximity for the physical benefits (regulation of breathing, heartrates, sleep cycles, etc.), these co-sleepers can be a great compromise. They are fairly small, though-- about the size of many play-yards, so you may also want to look into buying a full-sized crib that can be height-adjusted flush with your bed mattress, and remove (or drop down) the side rail. This may be a better option for twins, since you will need more room.

Good for you for decided ahead of time to breastfeed! Surround yourself with supportive friends & family members, and educate yourself as much as possible on it ahead of time-- especially breastfeeding preemies, since twins are more likely to come a few weeks earlier than most singletons. Nursing preemies is a whole 'nother ballgame! And has a host of benefits that go above and beyond the benefits of nursing a full-term baby.

Congratulations, and best of luck!

Honestly, I just used the bassinet part of my pack-n-play for my twins. It worked just as well for me. Best of luck to you!!

Wanted to add that nursing twins is a challenge. Especially if they are premature and have problems with feeding/weight gain. Its very honorable that you're even willing to try. Most were surprised that I did. I even had the lactation consultant shocked.

I didn't get one but I wish now that I had. It would be easier than having to get up in the middle of the night and walk across the room to the bassinette. I guess I wondered if they were safe and didn't know anyone that had used one.

I am now starting my 34th week.
