I am thinking about moving to Charlotte, but working in South Carolina, for at least a couple years. It's because of my job and licensing in different states. Any thoughts from people in the area?

Anywhere in South Carolina.

I do not live in South Carolina. We may be moving to Charlotte, North Carolina. But, due to licensing issues with my occupation, it would be easier for me to work in South Carolina. Is this a reasonable drive? I could work anywhere in South Carolina I wanted.

I live in Charlotte and Im two minutes away from South Carolina. The south side of Charlotte is a really upscale area too so its really nice! We're closest to Fort Mill and Rock Hill, SC. Theres a lot to do moreso in Charlotte. Good luck and email me if you need anymore help! lactosecore@yahoo.com

If you live on the south end of the city, you can commute to Rock Hill, Fort Mill in 20 minutes. If you don't mind a little longer commute, you could work in Greenville, SC and Columbia, SC with about an hour to an hour and half. You could also live in York, SC or Lancaster, SC and still have a decent commute into Charlotte. Hope that helps!

You didn't specify where you live in South Carolina but I can help you some.
If you live in the Columbia area, You are looking at around an hour and a half driving north up 77. (93miles)
If you live in the Charleston area, You are looking at around four and a half hours.
