Those are the times I stay home. Or sometimes I force myself to go out and I actually have a good time. Either way, I know what you mean, I definitely get anxiety about going out with people I don't know well. I thought it was just me, glad it's not. =)

I have, and it's not the best feeling I'll tell you. But it could be one of two things - what's making you feel uncomfortable? Do you have social anxiety or do you just feel like you don't "click" with them? Sometimes friendships aren't meant to be, no matter how hard you try to be friends with people. It's noone's fault, it's just a lack of chemistry.
Give it another try. Sometimes you have to force yourself to go out and have a bit of fun with people. But if your friends start doing things that make you FEEL uncomfortable, you should probably stop hanging out with them. It's all your choice! GL!

No. I have that problem down. I'm careful who I call ' friend.'
Just because some creep comes up and starts blathering in your direction doesn't make him a friend.
Or someone who's trying just a little too hard and the scam card shows - hey - we talked.
We didn't connect.
Alone ain't bad compared to desperate.

Yes you might feel anxiety from being around more girls than just her. Go ahead and get to meet more people because you need to learn how to make and keep friends.

Not any more. If you don't want to go; just say you really don't feel like it. Or if you've already committed, just say you've changed your mind. Her reaction to hearing this will tell you a lot as to whether your gut feeling was right or not.
Hopefully she'll just be breezy and say something like "OK! I hope we'll get a chance to meet up again sometime soon"

Yes, but you'll never feel comfortable unless you try to socialize with new people. After a few tries if you still don't feel like you "hit it off" with a new person, or group, then maybe look elsewhere.

i dated one of my best girl friends, and we are still together. it wasn't akward at all, especially after we got over the weird stares from everyone. we've been together for like, 2 1/2 years. sometimes it's worth it
