Famous French newspapers are Le monde, Le parisien, Le figaro, La libération. But those newspapers are quite hard. If you go to South Kensigton you can fin 3 french libraries which sell those newspapers and a lot of other french books:
au fil des mots, librairie la page and the french bookshop. They are all quite close to the station.

Most large newsagents stock French newspapers. Look out for Paris Match (magazine), Le Figaro, Le Nouvel Observateur, Le Canard Enchaine. Or get your school library to subscribe - most big newspapers give massive discounts to schools for this sort of thing.
The big mainline stations like Kings Cross and Victoria should have a decent range.

Top of your list: Le Canard. As good as The Eye, but with fewer cartoons. Available at lots of news-stands in London.
