Is it possible to use a playing card as a baseball? I can't seem to hit them more than a couple feet.?

I wouldn't know about baseball, but I've seen the other day in a TV show someone who took the 52 cards of one deck and managed to throw one after the other from the penalty line in basketball towards the basket, and 21 of them were in the basket!
He still lost his bet which was, that he could throw 25 into the basket.
