They probably will not induce then. They typically do not induce until you have gone past your due date a week or two unless there is some complication

Sure they probably would induce you, because scheduled inductions are far more convenient for the doctor than spontaneous labor and birth.

But research the pros and cons of inductions and you might change your mind. Inductions are riskier for the mother and can cause uterine hyperstimulation as well as fetal disstress that leads to emergency c-sections.

Women who are induced are more likely to need a c-section. Period.

One popular induction drug, Cytotec (misoprostol) is very dangerous and has killed a dozen women in this country, but OBs still use this drug quite often.

Pitocin leads to a much more painful labor than a spontaneous (naturally ocurring labor).

Can't your parents come for a visit as soon as the baby is born? how far away are they moving? can they delay their move? The move seems less important than this birth.

Please do some reading on this. Henci Goer's book, the thinking women's guide to a better birth as well as the childbirth book by Ina May Gaskin give lots of info on this.

Due dates are close but not exact so most doctors like to wait until you are at least a week overdue to make sure you don't end up with a preemie b/c of human or computer error. Talk to you doctor about it though if your baby has been growing on schedule and seems healthy he may only make you wait 3 days over or something like that. Good luck hope your parents get to be there for the birth, maybe you'll just go into labor tonight and won't have to worry about it.

As long as u are 40 weeks which is full term then yes u may certainly ask them,,they will most likely say yes..tell them your situation and explain to them that would like everyone to be there...With my last pregnancy i was going to be induced and i picked the day and time of the induction with the doctors ok...my sister in law just had her baby and also felt incapable of carrying her baby to 40 weeks because of pain and stress and asked the doc if she could give birth earlier than her due date which was like 1 week or so early, doc had no problem...just speak your mind,im sure they wont mind,,u are due..good luck!!

I dont see why they wouldnt. Expecially if you already have a child. Ive been told they dont like to do it if its your first baby. I asked my dr. to give me an induction date because my husband is in the marines and can only have 10 days of leave to be with the baby and me before returning to work everyday. And she told me no I had to go on my own even if it was 42 weeks. Good Luck

Ask your doctor... it's up to them but I will warn you that if you're not having a scheduled c-section and you're planning for a VBAC (vag birth after c-section), being induced increases you chances of a ruptured uterus. If that happens, the baby has a 25% chance of death.

My dr wanted to induce me 2 days before my due date with my youngest but I said no because I was hoping for a VBAC, she was born the day after her due date naturally!!!

I wouldn't ask to be induced unless it is absolutely necessary. Trust me, I was induced and the pain is way more intense with an induction than with a natural labor!

Well I know that if you have 1 C-section you have to have c-section all the time.. So i guess yes. Good luck and congrats.
