What is the difference between a fantasy player and a manager of a sports team...
1)managers of a sports team is a very uncommon profession i bet lest then 1% of the population is a coach of a real sports team
2)managers of a sports team only make out lineups, they dont get to draft everyone, scout players, make trades, and frankly they are pretty underappreciated
3)All sports fan watch sports because they get the oppurtunity to cheer for someone or something, they have things to talk about with other guys, they get to ride a bandwagon of a team, and some people go as far as too stick with there favorite team even when they are losing, not to mention the thrill u can get out of your son or daughter taking them too a live game, getting to see the real stars, and if there lucky they might get an autograph which all though its just a piece of paper with a signature on it, it could be babe ruths, or joe nobodys, the fact that that one kid met a real life athlete that he gets to see on TV, it could change his future... Almost every kid dreams of being a big sports star, most play a sport up through high school, but when high schools over only the ones who actually have talent get the chance to play on, and the very few get to play on a real big time college team...so u have all these people who played a sport there whole childhood, and now its gone, they have to fill a void, and sure watching football is fun, but there are so many games on, u can't have a 10+ favorite teams so u can cheer on a certain team every game...thats why some genius created fantasy sports, so that not only did we sit through a bunch of games on sundays not really caring who won, and when our favorite team came on we were riled up, now with the fantasy teams u have certain players u root for when ur teams not on, a reason to watch and cheer for other teams besides ur favorite... a fun way to win money, which everyone loves...honestly football is the best fantasy game to play, since baseball is so long of a season most people end up having scheduling issues and dont have time to update it every week, but at the end of the season they can go to there team, and see that they picked up a guy that nobody knew and played him,and there team won...now they have a whole year to brag about it, plus a lil extra cash in there pocket...

Because fantasy sports are played in leagues, often including friends, of people interested in the same things. These communities (to a greater and lesser extent) allow us to participate in and debate things (again, to a greater and lesser extent) that matter to us. Plus, it's fun.

...thought so.
Anything is bad when done to extreme.
So perhaps, live your own life, rather than making fun of others for not having one.

fantasy sports are fun for many people - the people who are critical of it probably dont have enough friends to start a league.
