Don't worry you should be able to have children whenever the time is right. But...what was the reason the Dr. gave you for your period to stop? If he didn't give you one then you need to see someone else. The answer to this problem is normally to put you on birth control pills that will regulate your menses and I assume that is what you're doing. But you still need to know why this is occurring. It is a known fact that with severe body changes like a dramatic weight loss/ severe physiscal exercise over a prolonged time/ anorexia you might stop having your period. These are only a few so you need to understand what is happening to your body. If you tried right away to get pregnant it might take you longer because you don't have a trackable ovation period. A Dr. could tell you how you can figure out what yours is and go from there.
I didn't even start my period til I was 16 and that was because my Dr. put me on pills to bring it on. I was always irregular- having a period every 3 months or so. He put me on birth control pills to regulate it. When I wanted to get pregnant I was able to without much difficulty with my Dr.'s care. So, if I could then I think you could. I just hope you see your Dr. again or see a new one for another opinion. Good Luck

Well I never had a period until my dr put me on the pill to regulate my period. After I stopped taking the pill i stopped having it to. I was diagnosed with turner syndrome when i was 18. Nothing to worry about though. we are two different people. Just go to the dr and get checked out.

maybe you stopped taking it so the pill wont work. Or you might have missed periods. Or another idea if you dont have your period you may be pregnant. I dont know much about pills and periods. I didnt know you can take a pill to regulate a period.

i can't tel you if you will be able to have shildren but i can tell you that you should get more than one opinion on that topic. i was told that i never would because i had irregular periods. i now have two beautiful girls. i have been diagnosed with PCOS (poly cystic ovarian syndrome). my gyno is amazed that i was able to have children. so don't give up hope.

Go back to your GP and get a referral to a gynaecologist. although abscence of periods for this length of time can be normal it is always wise to have it checked out

do you have really low body fat? If so, that might be the reason.
