There is a difference between being completely talented and completely utilizing your talent.
Both Men are completely talented, but both men do not completely utilize their talent.
Kobe maximizes what he has through a STRONG sense of competition and an enabling self confidence.
Lebron plays with raw talent and is extremely gifted but in my opinion he does not have the self confidence, drive, or experience to take the whole game on his shoulders when it matters most, the last ten seconds.
That is where legends are made.
-Michael's shot against Utah
-Magic's hook against Boston
-Kobe's olley-oop to Shaq against Portland
-Kobe's lay up against Phoenix last year
-Not to mention Kobe's million 3's to tie or win

I do believe Lebron has won one game with a last second shot though.
Kobe is superior to Lebron because he has the stronger mental focus and drive.
After all its a game with other people but the true challenge is inside ones self.

right now Kobe Bryant I'm not saying that just because hes my favorite player. the one thing i hate is that people say Kobe don't share the ball. that's all hes been doing this season. he gets teammates involved.hes the most complete player. theres not one way a team can stop him. kobe can create his shot better than lebron and is a better outside shoot. lebron James is very good hes a man child. hes just 22 and playing way beyond his years in acouple of years lebron will be the best in the game. right now overall Kobe is a better player. lebron will be the best in the game soon!

Man this kills me, being from Northeastern Ohio, but i'd have to go with Kobe. When he is on...he's unstoppable. He's the closest thing we will ever see to Michael Jordan. LeBron is a horrible defender, while Kobe is 1st team all defense. LeBron is a good passer, but it seems like he slows the game...just trying too hard to make a no look pass while Kobe is just more flowing. Its a push on dunking...but Kobe is a great shooter, and LeBron is too streaky.
I love me some L-Train 23...but Kobe is clearly better.

kobe...when people say kobe is a ball hog they are wrong, he tries to include his team but they just cant make any baskets, his fg's are down yet he's still near the top of the scoring. LeBron's team does make shots so thats how he gets all the assist. Kobe MAKES the big shots..lebron doesn't..kobe is more clutch than anyone in the game...you hear it over and over again...if coaches could pick someone to shoot that last basket it would be KOBE !

Kobe, hands down. He does everything, except rebound better then LeBron. Now, LeBron is a lot younger and can still become better, but he may not become better and this may be as good as he gets. It's still really good, and I doubt he won't grow, but the better player right now is Kobe and he will be for another two years at least.

Now, then and always, Kobe! James doesn't have the speed, defense nor ups like Kobe. Plus, Kobe is fundamentally sound! One of the best ever if not the best! I'm a Lakers fan, so of cores I'll say his better then MJ, but it's really a coin toss.

i might say Kobe is greater effective perfect now. HE can get to the basket surely, like Lebron, yet he's greater expierienced. lebron james, he tries to get everybody involved in the game, kobe is out there to make himself look good
plus lebron is bigger and can play in the low post as well as dribble the ball. He is great on fast breaks and defense too.
Kobe is smaller and can't play down low. He doesn't play defense either.

i shall devide this question into 3:
1-now: yes kobe is better, offensively and defensivly, winning edge, mentel edge, and experience wise!
2- if they came in at the same time: well yea, kobe will be 2nd to lbj only!
3- in the future all depends on what will happen to kobe, and how they will end their career!
so now kobe is a better all around player in the nba!
damn man, he is the best out there!
