I need to be close because we are not renting a car, and I'd like it to be nice, since it will be our late honeymoon, but it can't break the bank. I'm a little weary of hotels.com and expedia.com, never really sure if the ratings are accurate.

Here is what to do. I know because I got married last August in Las Vegas and we only had 1800 dollars for everything. We spent five days for nights in Vegas at a nice hotel plus saw three shows and had a rental car.

Go to travelworm.com and check out the packages for air and hotel together. This site is way better than expedia, vegas.com, etc. Consider also getting a car. Check out US Rental Cars in Las Vegas just to price it out. Ours was about 100 dollars including tax for those five days.

My top recommendations are Gold Coast and The Orleans. They are off the strip, but offer a shuttle. If you get a car also consider staying at Golden Nugget downtown on Fremont Street.

There are some beautiful hotels on the strip and that's where you want to be if in Vegas. You don't need to rent a car, there's a tram that costs a dollar per ride, but if you pay $5 you can ride all day & you will need it because its hot in Vegas and everything looks close but when your walking in the heat-its further than you think. Be careful though you can walk anywhere you want with an alcoholic beverage but not on the tram, they make you dump it. Avoid cabs on the weekends because the traffic is too tremendous, you'll be in the cab forever. If you want a nice hotel you will have to spend money it unavoidable. Book as far ahead in advance as you can. If you avoid the weekends you can get a nice hotel at a cheaper rate. New York New York is a good hotel right on the strip and the price is decent. I stayed at the Bellagio (its pricey but beautiful) Theres also the Rio but its not on the strip. Its well priced and the restuarants are reasonably priced as well. Go to the hotel.com and everything else, if you see a price you like call up the hotel directly and tell them what the web site is offering. That way they will most likely give you a better rate for booking directly with them. The dot com sites take a percentage of the hotel price...the hotels would rather that you book directly with them so they get all the profits! Also whatever hotel you do stay at, sign up for their email specials so for future visits you will get even better rates!

The Orleans has extra effective rooms and is a good fee for the money. even though it is not strolling distance to the Strip except you think approximately a million.5 miles strolling distance. yet they do furnish Strip holiday provider. many times i might say evaluate the employer hotels like the LV Hilton on Paradise, yet throughout CES those would be Slammed. in case you have a automobile that's relatively helpful to contemplate getting even further out like green Valley Ranch hotel in Henderson or the crimson Rock in Summerlin. Lake Las Vegas additionally has some very advantageous hotels.... yet this is an prolonged lengthycontinual in. throughout CES that's rather difficult to discover a deal on something close by. possibly you could need to contemplate the Golden Nugget downtown too. despite the fact which you do as quickly as you be attentive to for optimistic you're coming for CES e book early!

www.vegas.com is thru US Air and has the best deals I've found in a long time. I used them to book my upcoming trip to Vegas in May.

As far as nice, reasonably priced hotels on the Strip. I'm not sure what your budget is, but my top picks are Luxor, NYNY, and Treasure Island. I've stayed at all three and would let my best friend stay there. My Aunt hated the Tropicana and I HATED the Riviera.

Rates are constantly changing, dependant on:

1. weekdays (cheap) vs. weekends (expensive)
2. major event in town (expensive)
3. holidays (expensive)
4. cold months (expensive) vs. hot months (cheap)

If you can stand a week (not weekend) in the middle of August, you might even find a room on the strip for as low as $50.00 per night.

The Gold Coast is just off the strip on Flamingo Blvd. -- it's not the fanciest, but it is dirt cheap. You can still get $39.99 rooms under some of those (cheap) circumstances, above.

Every hotel has shuttles that can take you where you want to go, so don't worry too much about transportation.

try to get a package deal through hotwire or travelocity, or airlines. Flamingo is fairly cheap and in the middle of everyhing and close to the monorail, and still one of the only oldskool casinos left

Definitely check http://www.tripadvisor.com/ for ratings & reviews -- that should give you a good idea of which hotels you might be interested in after getting rate information from expedia, etc.

Enjoy!
