kph, mph, m/s, ft/s ... etc

The measurement of velocity is a process of determining, through observation, the value of the parameters that go into calculating velocity: displacement / time expired.

I agree with all the units of velocity given to you in the above answers. In the physics community the most common unit is meters per second or (m/s).

If you are wondering how to find the velocity it is the change in x (or distance) divided by the change in time. (change in x/change in time)This is why the units are meters (a distance) divided by seconds (time).

So, basically, velocity is how much distance you cover in a certain amount of time.

Hope this helps!

measurment of Velocity is V

V=D/T

for example you are traveling at a distance of 100 miles and it is going to take you 2 hrs to get there your velocity is 50 mph so V=50mph

velocity is a given distance traveled over time and most importantly unlike speed it has direction.
