I have to research shrimp. Not as a food, but as an actual creature i.e. where it lives, what it eats, physical characteristics, you get the idea. But the problem is the only sites I get are on eating, cooking, or catching them. Please ,can you give me a site that i can use for the report? And I already have wikipedia, but I need at least 3 sources. Thanks in advance!!!

I was told to pick a type of shrimp after I had started to research. It has to be saltwater, but other than that it can be any type of shrimp.

I'd suggest either a pistol shrimp or mantis shrimp. There will be plenty of info on the net about both. The pistol is my personal favorite. They have one large claw wher one side fits into the other slightly. When they are disturbed, they snap the claw and it makes a loud popping noise to frighten predators or disorient its prey. They're nearly blind and often live in a symbiotic relationship with a goby. The shrimp makes a cave or tunnel and sits at the entrance - when trouble comes, the goby warns itand they both use the burrow till the danger's over. Pretty neat!

The peacock mantis shrimp is one of the prettiest saltwater shrimp in saltwater - see photo: http://saltaquarium.about.com/library/photos/blpicinvertmdemaiomantis.htm but are a problem in a tank. They can shatter a glass aquarium or heater, kill fish and inverts, and slice open a person's thumb if they aren't careful. Some people keep them in acrylic tanks by themselves, just for the colors!

You can look up either (and use the genus names given in the websites) to get more info.

You can research brine shrimp. They are a type of fish food so you shouldn't get any cooking sites because as far as I know, they aren't eaten. Keep in mind there is more than one kind of brine shrimp. Brine shrimp eat phytoplankton. Where they live depends on the species. That's all I know. As far as sources, there's a site call: usgs.gov. Try it out. Good luck with your project!

Well you could go on Fishindex.com. You could Google it! I am not really sure what else you could go on. I had to do the same thing except I had a fish not a shrimp. I forget the other web sites but if I find them then I will be sure to write back to you or e-mail you!

Try being more specific about what kind of shrimp you're looking into.
Freshwater or saltwater, for example?
If you look up just "shrimp", you'll get a lot of food references; you need to look up individual shrimp species to get real info.
For starters, I googled "aquarium shrimp", and came up with some decent info:
