Without an education, you are not even fit to work at McDonalds, because you do not have the discipline to do as you are told for the better part of a day, and you would be unable to count change properly. Education leads to jobs that are worthwhile, and you will need a job when you are grown.
Parents don't like video games because children play them too much. Some video games are fine, but when you sit in front of a TV for hours on end pretending to kill people, it's really quite disturbing.

I'll make this simple: kids need an education because, without one, there's no money for a home or food or clothes or. . . video games. Parents don't like video games because sometimes they're too violent and also because kids don't have limits. They don't know when to stop playing and get serious. I don't have kids, but if I did I wouldn't be against video games--I love 'em, but I would make sure that my kids know that there's a time to play and a time to take life seriously.

So you can become a productive adult with a job - and search the Internet at work like the rest of us...
Parents don't dislike video games, we dislike that they take over your lives. There is no playing outside, being up & moving, playing ball, etc. Everything is forgotten when you pick up a controller - homework, chores, eating, hygene..
It's the amount of time spent vs. the amount of time you spend doing other 'productive' things. Also, too many video games have too much violence - and it's sad but true - exposure to it even in a video game desensitises us.
Make sure your homework & chores are done before you pick up a controller. Take time to interact with your family & be active with your friends. It'll make your folks much happier.

Presumably, kids need an education so that their adult life won't suck. Trying to get a job without a Bachelor's degree is tough; trying to get one without a diploma or GED is near impossible. Even the military won't take someone without a GED. Even professional athletes almost always go to college (in most sports). Heck, even most retail stores won't hire you without a high school diploma (for a non-seasonal job), and they certainly won't make you a manager without one. So, unless you are unbelievably gifted at some unusual, non-degree requiring skill (music, gymnastics, etc.), then school is about the only way to guarantee you will have enough money to eat and pay rent when you get older.

Hmmm.... Nice thought, but its not as nice as it seems... Videogames are there to provide you a great time pass but they cant help you progress in life (Not unless you want to be Tommy Vercetti and wanna go shooting the **** out of every thing that walks) Education is neccessary to build a strong character and become a noteable personality (It also helps you score with hot 'chicas') So go ahead kid study hard and believe that you have what it takes to change the world... Also remember my following words:
"Everything is possible... The impossible just takes longer"

because if you don't take advantage of learning while your brain is young and quick and like a sponge, you grow up to be a lazy, stupid adult. Video games keep kids inside, they don't encourage conversation, and you seldom learn much with them. they're getting better at that, but it's still mostly a waste of time you could spend interacting with the world.
