The last guy I arrested with a fake ID got a $50 fine. There is a misdemeanor conviction on his record though. Who wants a record? Up to the judge and what you were trying to do though.

A false passport or driving licence is a serious crime. its fraud and im pretty sure you could do time. i think Posing as a police officer is could also be a prison offence. But why would you want to use a fake ID anyway? I can understand buying alcohol, ciggies or getting into a film under age but if your a law abiding citizen, why risk it?

UK

Personation as it is called i.e. impersonating a Police Officer is treated very seriously by the court as is converting a vehicle in any way that could be considered to represent a Police Vehicle. A heavy fine and/or a term of imprisonment could be issued.

depends you can be arrested for fraud or theft of passport or any other offenses connected to the specific id, when i encounter a fake or fraudulent id i have the power to detain the person using it i can do that physically if i feel i need to however i am legally obliged to seize the id and as for saying you will not be arrested i have seen exactly that happen several times it entirely depends on what you use it for who catches you and where you are

If the police catch you with a fake id they will ticket you and you have to go to court. Usually a fine and thats all if you are just using it to get cigarettes or alcohol.

You could be prosecuted, but in most cases you`ll just get turned away. It isnt financially viable. would cost the establishment sueing you a small fortune.
If your trying to get into a club for example, expect a kicking from the bouncer and toddle away with your tail between your legs!

depends on the type of id.

posing as a police officer or driving with a fake licence is different than a 15 year old trying to buy cigarettes.

It depends on the sort of ID. If it is a passport, or identity card and you are caught, it is usually 6-18 months and deportation.

In Louisiana, first offense is 250 fine and community service.
Second offense, if I remember right, is six months in jail .
Third offense, the ID or license is suspended for a year.

Basically, the same as DUI or DWI
Plus you have court fines in addition to sentence.

You will get 20 years hard labour in the Russian salt mines. Then you will be put up in front of the firing squad.

;-)

I dont suppose anything will happen for using a fake ID as long as you play by the rules and dont upset anyone.
