The law about adults and juveniles begins with an issue concerning the "Age of Emancipation" or "Age of Majority."

When a person reaches the Age of Majority their state no longer considers them a juvenile whose responsibility lays with an adult parent or legal guardian.

Your state will have a specific Age of Majority, normally 18 or 19, that by law determines when you are considered to legally be an "adult."

At 20, it's my best bet you have exceeded the Age of Majority and believe "mom" is pulling the wool over your eyes.

Contact your local or state law enforcement agency to see if there is a law that prohibits you from driving without a parent or legal guardian....I doubt there is at 20!!

Best wishes.

She may be right. Check with your states DMV and read the laws yourself. I know there have been some changes, because young people were having too many accidents while riding around their friends and getting distracted.

If someone is 20, then they are an adult (assuming age of majority in your state is 18).

While I don't have the proof...I highly doubt that applies to licensed 20 year olds.
