hello !
i don't know what you mean by "never been around her" but i have a suggestion for you. for every woman the best gift in the world is her child/children. so you can make a photo album of yours by the time you were a baby until now. if you have photos in which you are together (your mum and you )you may also use them too. i did it at my mother and she was really happy.
by the way, happy birthday for her !
take care !

You should take her down to the closest spa and spoil her with a full dody message and airoma therapy and a hot stone session to end it all off,she will enjoy it to be treated like a princess again then take her to do her favourite time passing(what ever that should be) thing.........good luck
Cheers

Some scented soaps would be nice. Or a ten dollar gift card to any department store in a pretty card.

I assume that you want to give her something nice, as you are getting to know her or want to improve your relationship with her.

If so, I would suggest something warm and friendly that will give you time together, treat her to lunch at a nice cafe. And when she gets there, give her some pretty spring flowers.

Good luck.
