A business always has every right to refuse service to anyone they chose, as long as they don't make that choice based upon status as a member of a protected class (race, religion, color, gender, etc.). So a cab driver (of any religion) has every right to refuse to pick up a passenger carrying an alcohol, as ownership of alcohol is in no way protected.
Similarly, since the airport pick-up location is a privately held driveway, they have every right to refuse to allow cabs whose drivers refuse to pick up alcohol carrying passengers. The airport would be refusing service, not based on the religion of the cab drivers, but based upon their behavior. Note that their behavior is not inherently religious in nature--for example, the airport could not refuse to allow cab drivers wearing Muslim-mandated clothing in the airport, as that is an integral part of the Muslim religion. And while it is an integral part of the Muslim religion to not drink alcohol, the same could not be said of doing business with those who do.
Now, is it a good public relations policy for the airport or the cab drivers to make these moves? That I don't know.

I think that any business has the right to refuse service to customers, therefore if muslim cab drivers dont want to pick up passengers with alcohol, then they shoud not have to, and they should NOT be banned from the airport for it...it sounds like minneapolis is trying to profile and keep muslims away from the airport by using this as an excuse...seems like a violation of their constitutional rights...most notably equal protection.

I think that if your religious beliefs disagree with your choice of profession then you just might want to pick a new profession. Otherwise, the First United Church of I Refuse To Carry Anyone But Hot Blonde Nymphomaniacs might see a huge rise in believers and the rest of us will end up walking home from the airport.
But in all seriousness, I think that - this being the land of the free - cab drivers should be allowed to refuse service to anyone they choose. They should also be kind enough to have "I DISCRIMINATE" painted on their hoods so that we can all give them the all-American obscene gesture of our choice as we walk past them to get into a cab that isn't driven by a douchebag.

All cab drivers should be able to refuse passengers carrying open alcohol . However , if you've merely been shopping - it's nobody's business what is in your bag .

Cab drivers should be able to refuse picking up anyone they want. I should also be able to refuse to ride in the cab of someone I don't want to ride with.

Yes, they should be allow not to pick up people with alcohol, drugs and few other things. Though I don't agree with the "moon god" religion, but I can't help to agree with them on this issue.
The issue has nothing to do with political correctness, the issue has everything to do with moral standards.
Even George Washington would not allow his troops to drink any type of alcohol. Because he did not want to offend "The" Living God and his Savior, Christ Jesus.
