In January 2006, a Daily Express article reported that Julian Bailey is secretly the Stig.
In June 26, 2005, Damon Hill appeared as the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car. When asked directly by Clarkson if he was the Stig, Hill evaded the question and did not provide an outright denial or confirmation.
Mark Webber was interviewed on July 31, 2005 and at the conclusion of his lap Clarkson presented him with an "I AM THE STIG" T-shirt. Webber was then warned not to wear it around the F1 paddock, as "Michael doesn't always wear red"
The identity of the first Stig was revealed to be Perry McCarthy when his book Flat Out, Flat Broke was published in 2003.
So who really knows? so many names? Only 1 man or is it only 1 man with size 10 boots?

Not this question again!
Does no-one read previous questions any more or bother searching out Wikipedia? It's all there if you bother to look for it!
Informed opinion suggests that the current "white Stig" is not one particular F1 test driver, but a couple of them, depending on availability. Most people seem agreed that the first "black Stig" (who supposedly got killed when he drove off the aircraft carrier - if you saw that episode) was Perry McCarthy.
The makers of Top Gear of course won't say, hence the speculation and the fact that this question is asked on Yahoo Answers at least once every week - more when the series is actually on air!!

i think the stig is more than one person that's why his identity is kept secret. Ive noticed in this series especially that "the stigs" weight is noticeably different from one episode to another. what do you think about this theory

Someone asked this a few days ago - in fact I think it gets asked about once a week! They said it was a fomula one driver, I can't remember his name - a search on Yahoo Answers should do the trick. Others think it is Damien Hill, others Tiff Needell. It's a bit of a mystery to be honest!

Somebody asked this question the other day, and somebody else posted a wikipedia link.
It appears to be Ben Collins. Seemed pretty conclusive to me! Doesn't matter since I didn't have a clue who he was anyway, despite the very helpful explanation on wikipedia...

Who knows, but Hey! it's certainly a talking point isn't it! This is why the programme makers like keeping that air of mystery about his identity, because it makes us all speculate!
