You are NOT too old for Ballet. Nobody is too old for anything! I had heard a man in his 50s taking Ballet Class meant for beginners and is doing quite well. Well, perhaps he can go for Ballet Exam after sometimes. If you want to make it a career, it is also definitely NOT too late. I know a girl who start Ballet at 16 and is now training to be a professional. Well, you have some dance experiences and I believe you will learn Ballet well... But practice hard! Sorry, but helping much but YOU ARE NOT TOO OLD TO DO BALLET PROFESSIONALLY. Bear that in mind. Good luck for you and your Ballet!

Ive been dancing since i was 4 and still love doing it. I was in ballet since i was 11 and as i got older everyone quit and say ballet was for babies so i was 1 out of 3 girls my age (15) that actually stayed in ballet. The world needs more older ballet girls in class that are serious like u to actually make a carreer out of it. I think u should defienatly do ballet and then later on u can start pointe which can get u far if ur in companies like me where u do pointe dances like the nutcracker suite in NYC. Go for ur dreams and DO IT! Only the best will happen when u dance! Don't give up! Hope I Helped!!!

I started when i was 13 and i am now almost 15, and i ahve really progressed. i have thought about it as a career, not followed that idea, but go for it and good luck to you.
It is good you ahve done other dancing, as this shows you have the ability to learn moves fairly quickly.
get yourself a good ballet teacher, practise, what other people dancin 9go to the theatre/get videos) as it really helps you to know what it should look like, and has been proven that if you wacth something you can pick it up easier.
Also just try your hardest, but dont be too hard on yourself if you get it wrong, and dont over do it.
PS 13 is not old to start ballet!
I love ballet it is by far the best dance. You will have to learn the french names of moves ect but give it time nd it will come.
good luck!

If you have done other disciplines of dance you already have the basic things you need to learn to do ballet. You may have to look around for a dance school that has beginner classes for teenagers, otherwise you will be starting with the littlies.

you mights start out with younger kids, just because you won't know the terminollogy but since you've done a lot of jazz then you should catch on quickly! you'll be fine!

nobody's ever too old for anything. go for it. who knows, you may find out you don't like it, just because you want to try it doesn't mean you have to make it a career. you may find you want to, but you're only 13, don't worry about that now, just have fun with it =]

You aren't too old. Just don't get too frustrated if you aren't as good as the other people your age when you start. You will get there if you stay determined.

you can do it if you put ur mind to it look at that one science teacher who ended up pro baseball in his mid 30's and look at that UFC fighter who was a math teacher turned fighter now . you just have to stay devoted in your goal and have enough faith in yourself and you can do anything good luck.
