THESE PEOPLE AND YES I MEAN THOSE PEOPLE ARE CHEST POUNDING WAR MONGERING JERKS ..LOOKING FOR ISRAEL AND OR THE USA TO DROP 1000'S OF BOMBS ON THEM. MIND YOU I DO NOT SAY THIS ABOUT THE PEOPLE IN GENERAL, JUST THERE LEADERS. SOMEONE NEEDS TO OVER THROW THAT GOVERNMENT AND FAST. THEY ARE THE ONES CAUSING TRIAL AND TRIBULATIONS FOR THERE OWN PEOPLE. SO WHAT IF ALEXANDER THE GREAT RULED OVER THEM. SO WHAT IF THE SPARTANS KICKED THERE BUTTS. THEY HAVE ASKED FOR IT FOR THE LAST 2500 YEARS. AGAIN..NOT THE CITIZENS OF IRAN..THE LEADERSHIP!!!

First of all, capital letters don't increase a post's coherence or relevance. Second of all, yes, I'm sick of Iran's leaders, and for that matter most world leaders out there. However given the imbecile currently occupying the White House, we're hardly in a position to get smug about foreign leaders' shortcomings. "Chest-pounding war-mongering jerks"... ah, the irony. As opposed to what, Bush and his supporters? The world is against this war in Iraq, and that includes most people in the US at this point. Attacking Iran would be a comparably ill-advised move.

I made friends with a couple of Iranian exchange students and they were straight up guys. They taught me so many things I didn't know and they never harbored any hard feelings to me what so ever but they knew their government was going to get them in big trouble and they were wanting to stay in America to keep from being killed by their own leaders.

I have a basic objection to your post.
1) If there is one phrase in this universe that I hate the most it is "Those people" meaning, "oh look at me/us, aren't we so much better and more civilized and way above 'those people'"
2) So its allright for us to "rally round the flag and scream death to our enemies and dehumanize them" but as soon as someone does that to us and/or one of our so-called allies, than we scream bloody murder and decide that we are so much better than they are.
3) Well, you have at least nailed one thing on the head that I hope you can apply to every nation, including ours, that RARELY are the goals of the rich and elite leaders even in the same stratosphere as the goals of the average citizen.
