Use plenty of bleach etc. Get the areas reallllly clean so they don't have to go back and do it themselves. That's one way to get on a realllly bad side of someone. Not being clean..

Don't vacuum at 5000 mph make sure you get it all up. So move semi slower and get all the dirt. That also pisses people off.

Make sure you watch out for the streaky mirrors, windows and furniture. The more streaks the more unprofessional it looks.

If they aren't home leave them a note about the house... maybe telling them the shape it's in or if you found a leak or anything like that. That way the know you're looking out for them.

Also try to leave little or no evidence you were there besides the fact that it's clean make sure you don't leave foot/finger prints and a bunch of stuff like that.

Do little extra things. For example, the dishwasher may be running when you start and when you're just about done it finishes. Unload it and reload the dirty dishes. Simple things like that, that will make them smile etc work great!

Good luck!

1. Do a good Job! If you have someone helping you you must trust them to not have to go behind them!
2. Decide ahead of time your fee. If your customer precleans the toilet, has dishes already washed and the trash out. (The toilet bowl IE their pee isn't really something you should clean). Also the laundry is separate and the bed making. You are a cleaning business not a maid.
3. Windows and the oven are a separate day.
4. Go over whether you use their cleaning supplies and know their inventory ahead of time.
5. When you start cleaning the bathroom take damp paper towels and go over the bathroom and bathroom floor first. That keeps you from having to pick hair and stuff out of your mop or sponge you can even vacuum the bathroom, too.
6. Take a small toothbrush with you to use on the sinks around the faucets and around fixtures that your sponge can't reach. Also rubbing alchohol works well on chrome faucets to make them sparkle. Use gloves and a cleaner that has a little bleach. Let the toilet soak a bit before you touch it.
7. Keep a little trash bag to put dirty paper towels and old swiffers.
8. Work from the top down in a very dirty house. Any dirt from the blinds or the window sills needs to be vacuumed up and also from the top of entertainment centers, and pictures.
9. If the furniture is very dusty you can carefully vacuum around the parts that you think aren't too delicate do that. And use a furniture dusting cloth to pre dust the major dust off. If they have a cat I pre vacuum everything otherwise hair will fly around the room and stick to your dust job etc.
10. Then vacuum the floors very well and mop.
11. Go back a do a real dust job to the furniture. Only use Endust on fake wood and wipe immediately. Pledge is to be used on real wood or a pre treated cloth for real wood. But remember to take off the dust first with a clean cloth or the furniture polish will just swirl it around. Check for smears.
12. Do the kitchen counters next. If you spray everything down with 409 mixed with a little amonia this works very well. If you are in a time frame do the obvious first. The stove top, counters, the sink, the cannisters, the kitchen table top. You can arrange to deep clean the kitchen when you go back to do the windows IE the oven with cleaner. Shake the mats out.
13. Windex all the mirrors and glass tables and glass fronts around the house.
14. Clean the telephone with alcohol wipes and q-tips with alcohol.
15. A razor blade to get things off the mirrors speeds up cleaning.
16. Try not to use vinegar it stinks! Don't use the old fashioned Pinesol it stinks! You want the house to smell nice. Also a little carpet fresh on the carpets before you vacuum makes a good impression.
17. Read labels and don't mix clorox and amonia based products.
18. Make sure that rugs are straight, magazines, and towels and things like pictures before you leave.

One thing I have learned over my lifetime of cleaning, is.. If you have a buildup of dried splatters of food (on the stove, counters etc.) either spray with cleaner,or easier yet is to just run a WET cloth over everything that is going to need cleaned ,then do something else for a couple minutes. the water will soften everything up & it will wipe off easily. If what you are trying to get up is really thick. simply lay a WET cloth over the mess & let it set while you do something else, then go back to it. That way you are geting two things done at the same time & it is a lot easier than standing & scrubbing.
Also
it is best,if you are claening walls,to start from the bottom & go up. that way if there are any runs, it won't make a run mark that is harder to clean from a dirty wall as it would be to just wipe it off the wall you just cleaned. Sounds strange, but from experience I know it's true. GOOD LUCK with your new business.

as a cleaning business you should make sure you are up todate on all tricks of the trade for cleaning with and without the use of chemicals.

a couple things you need to know about a business.
1 professionalism, professionalism, professionalism
2 under promise and over deliver.

I hired a cleaning company requiring them to use only natural cleaning agents. They gave me a figure and time frame and when they were finished they have far exceed what i had expected and I hired them on a year contract and tell my other associates about them. They even cleaned up the mess in and under the business fridge.

Don't leave streaks on the windows. People will get really really mad at you. I mean PISSED. It happened to me a couple of times. I didn't even get paid once because of some stupid streaks. It totally sucked!
