Yes from new born to three months is when they sleep the most...after that you'll notice times when the sleep more than normal because of growth spurts

at three months a baby should sleep anywhere from 9-12 hours a day. Babies do go through growth spurts, though, so a day here and there, he or she may sleep a little more. If it's more than a day or two, talk to your ped and make sure your baby is gaining weight.

Funny that you should ask that, I have two 3 month old boys in my daycare...one of them takes 3 naps a day about an hour long each and the other one takes two HUGE naps a day...about 3 hours each! I hardly see his eyes LOL
My little girl is 6 months old now but when she was younger she took 3 naps a day about an hour and a half to 2 hours each.

Yes, several naps a day. If you are lucky ;0) Remember that all infants are different. My baby (6 months) sleeps all night so her naps are shorter. Good luck!

keep in mind all babies are different, my kids both slept alot until they were 5 or 6 months old. if you are concerned, call your doctor. they can help put your mind at ease. babies tire easier than adults so if they are up and being held or played with much, then they will sleep more. if you are out with them alot, they will probably sleep more. good luck and God bless you
