No, but, would you buy a car without taking it out for a test drive? As long as you have the cash, you can buy one. You can get it registered in your state as well. If you have a car license, in most states, all it takes is the $10-20 to get a permit. If you don't have a car license, you'll have to pass a written test as well.

not to buy, but u will need 1 to be able to ride it on the street. that's after u get it titled, registered, plated, and insured. unless u have the endorsement, no dealer either metric or harley, will allow any test rides because of the dealership's insurance carrier says so. to be able to rent a harley, u have to have had the endorsement a minumum of 1 year after issue date.....permits, and endorsements under 1 full year are ineligible to rent.

NO, if you get it delivered to your home and only drive it on private land . with the permission of the land owner you don't need anything , I would think! but if you ride it on road or public place you will need insurance and road tax and a license. UK that is..

Most dealers will require an insurance binder before they let you take it off the lot if you are going to be making payments. If you are paying cash they don't care. They must however make sure their investment is taken care of.

you only need money (or credit) to buy. if you don't plan on riding on public roads, you will not need a license, registration or license plates.

You don't need one to buy one, but you do need one to drive it.

(If you're in Australia, otherwise I'm not sure if you need to have a license to purchase in other countries.)
