They are translucent in nature, 6 legged, hyperactive, approx an inch and one half long with dark brown furry like feeler appendages on their backs, long like antennae on the end of their torso, kind of a cross between a crawfish/earwig thing. What on Earth could they be?

There ghost shrimp. Their sold at most pet shops as an interesting thing to have in your tank, but usually just end up being dinner for any larger fish in the tank.

seems like you have a shrimp of some sort...they can get big/long depending upon the species. I'd look up some shrimp pictures and compare them to what you have and see if it looks right. if that's what you have, they can be lots of fun!
