Girls always like jewelry or makeup.
Maybe a photo album, mixed CD, poster with inside jokes.
The best gift is probably a gift certificate.
To the mall, movies, etc.
Forever 21, Wet Seal, and Rue 21 sells a lot of cute, cheap jewelry.

Depends on the kind of person she is. Is she academic? A gorgeous journal is always good. If she's trendy, a really cute hat is a great gift, and something she might not buy for herself. One thing that is kind of unique and I love to do for my friends is have flowers delivered to her house. Just an inexpensive arrangement can still be really beautiful. Or if she's athletic, you could get her a few passes to an ice rink or laser tag place in your area...Good luck!
