The newest firmware that can still be downgraded is 3.03. To get it to work, you'll need an unpatched copy of the GTA:Liberty City Stories UMD. The hack should get you down to v1.5, from there you could update to Dark Alex's 3.03OE-A, if you have a firmware NEWER than 3.03, you will not be able to run a downgrader as of now. Although you can purchase a modchip like the Undiluted platinum.

Sound like you have firmware 3.10.

When you say old skool games, I guess you mean games from older generation gaming systems (i.e. Genesis, SNES, NES, etc.).

In order to play those games on PSP, your PSP need to be homebrew enabled. This means your PSP has to be on firmware version 1.50 or install customized firmware (still need to be on 1.50 first). If you have firmware above 1.50, you need to downgrade it to 1.50.

Unfortunately, for firmware 3.10 and above, there is no downgrade available.
