My friends and I ran into the same problem --

we played a game called simply "dots"

what you do is:

make a field of dots in a grid as large or as small as you like.

Ex:

. . . . . .
. . . . . .
. . . . . .
. . . . . .

In turn, each player connects any two horizontally or vertically adjacent dots.

Ex:

. . . . ._.
. . . . . .
. . . . . .
. . . . . .

The formatting here is a little off, but you get the idea. Eventually, a player will be able to make a box from four adjacent dots. That player then writes their initials inside the box and takes another turn. (this can sometimes lead to a chain of boxes being created by one player)

Whoever has the most boxes at the end of the game wins.

The beauty of this game is, that depending how large or small you make the field of dots, you can adjust the game length and the number of players. And all it takes is a pencil or pen and a piece of paper. (I think they'll allow you to bring those to school).

The number of players, their ages and the types of games you like would be helpful information. I assume your boss would frown upon bringing cards or an actual boardgame into the workplace so may I suggest a guessing game such as Botticelli or Fictionary?
