Prenatals are good for everyone and beneficial. But, word of advice, I'm trying to conceive and was on here looking for answers but didn't get much help. It's hard to explain it all on here because our answers are limited. Maybe you should check out a TTC forum. I'm a member of two of them and they are very supportive and helpful in answering questions.

I don't know about prenatal vitamins, but I do know that the healthier you are the better your chances become. It took me a while to get pregnant, and I had to get really serious about eating right and taking care of my body. Rest and diet play a big role. I also took an herbal suppliment from herbsfirst.com called the female reproductive formula. It promotes the health of the reproductive system. It must have helped because I have a beautiful little girl now, and it certainly didn't hurt anything.

Any doctor would recommend any woman to take prenatals if trying to get pregnant. If not a prenatal, then a multivitamin with at least 400 mcgs of folic acid. The vitamins, especially folic acid, in prenatals are essential for good development early on in the womb. Taking them will decrease the likelihood of miscarriage and birth defects. But I don't believe it has anything to do with fertility, or increasing the chances of getting pregnant. At least, I haven't seen any studies for that.
