no it's pretty normal. Plus if its your first one your body is probably trying to adjust to this new stage and yes the cramps hurt. get MIDOL!!!!!!! some chocolate and some salty chips you'll feel better!

Congratulations, you are now officially a young woman. Women experience different things with their periods and also at different times in their lives. Some women get by with hardly any period pain, others can be in extreme agony, nausea, headaches and all kinds of menstrual symptoms. It's nothing to really worry about but I know it is really horrible and there are some things which you may find that help. If you are suffering from pain then you can take medication like aspirin or other over-the-counter pain killers to help ease the pain. If you like more natural methods of dealing with it then try to drink a herbal tea like chamomile and get a hot water bottle to hold on your stomach and lie down for a while. Your fitness levels also can play a part in how you feel during your periods and generally if you are fitter then you are less likely to suffer from period pains (although this is not unfortunately a hard and fast rule;) The important thing though is to realize that this is the down-side of being a woman for many women and all you can do is find the best way of easing the pain or other symptoms you may be suffering from and try to stay as fit as possible.

Hi there. Those symptoms are normal. Sometimes you may get cramp's so bad they send you to the emergency room. You can get dizzy, head aches, and just over all feel yucky. You will have days where you bleed more then other days. You may even pass some clot's of blood. As long as their not very large clots those are ok too.

It is terrible what us girls have to go through. But we're the lucky one's in the end! Cause we get to have babies!! hehe~

I hope you start feeling better really soon. Oh yea. Maybe get your mom to buy you some mydol or take some motrin. That may help you with the cramps. Or a cool pack on your stomach. Feel better sweetie!

Most periods come with cramping and bloating and generally feeling blergh. That's what PMS is all about. If it's your first period, it might be a lot worse than the ones in future would be. And they might be irregular until your body gets into the cycles. What might help is some mild exercise (like walking), even though I know that's probably the last thing you want to do. You could also try putting a hot water bottle on your tummy. You could also take some painkillers, and drink lots of water.

Don't forget to start writing down the dates of your periods so you can keep a track of them. That's very important!

Dont worry this is totally normal. When you first start it is often erratic and will settle down after a while. It is not uncommon for young girls to have heavy bleeding and pain, but if you find the heavy bleeding is too much then your doctor can prescribe tablets that can help. For the pain, take some painkillers that say they are for period pain like Nurofen, Ibuprofen or Feminax, and use a hot water bottle. I find that a painkiller and a lay down is the best thing. If this continues and you're really not happy, then again go see your doctor and they have several medications that can really help you xx

You are perfectly normal but the cramps kill, I know!

For cramps:
Take some advil, i-b profin(sp), midol. one of those-not all.
Use a heating pad.
Excersize if it dosen't hurt TOO bad..it helps sometimes in an odd way?
Sit in fetus position.
Most of all-SLEEP!

Bleeding alot:
-It's normal but it sucks. For heavy days, use super tampons or pads. There is a thing called a menstrual cup that holds a lot of blood and so many women reccomend it. (tampons and pads are not sterile and can actually harm you.) A few examples of menstraul cups are Divacup, Mooncup, The Keeper. Google those and look onto them.
Oh, and if you do use tampons, use a pantyliner for backup.

There is nothing wrong with you. A lot of girls feel what you feel. I know I did when I was in my teens. About a week before your next period (count 28 days from the day you started), try to get some exercise and drink a lot of water. You can take aspirin or Tylenol to relieve some of your discomfort. I always liked Bayer aspirin but some people can't take aspirin products and have to take things like Tylenol. I use to like to use a heating pad on my tummy and lower back the first day or two. Trust me. It gets better as you get older.

You should be taken to a gyn to find out why such bad cramps and it isn't normal for young girl on her first period to have heavy bleeding In my experiences with young girls their first period is a normal bleeding in fact less than you will have as you grow older.

Ask your mother or guardian to take you to a gyn for a complete check up because something is not quite right with this heavy bleeding, you should stop having your peroid in about 4 days, be on the safe side see your gyn.

Nope, you're absolutely normal. i was reading this book the other day and the reason you get cramps is because your body is squeasing out the old lining that you didn't use with muscles you never use. and you feel horrible cause of a temporary hormonal imbalance. don't worry, that part only lasts for about 3 days. i know, my period just started getting regular

don't worry your safe. most girls get cramps, sometimes mine get bad. and when you have your period your supposed to bleed. [you probably already knew that] but some people bleed a lotand other barely bleed. i tend to have a heavy load of bleeding, so i need a bigger pad. sometimes when you have your period you aldo get sick or have discarge. i hate it, sometimes i get sick.
if the cramps feel bad then ask your mom or nurse at school for some medicine and it should help.
hope it helped=]
