Probably, you just won't be able to use it all. That was my experience.

The memory addresses on the card will probably not be accessible. I'm guessing the software on your camera can only access up to 1 GB of address space. Installing anything more will likely be unusable. It would be like installing more than 4 GB on a 32 bit operating system (MS 9x, ME, NT, 2000, XP (32bit), 2003 Server). The OS can only handle up to 4 GB without changing to a 64 bit operating system.

You can put a smaller one in and expect it to work at full capacity; however if you put a larger one in, it may work, but only see 1GB of the space.

yes you can . i have one and the associate at the store where i purchased the camera from told me i could the 1gb just holds more pictures than the 2gb and so on.

i have just up dated from a 256mb sd card to a 2GB card and it works fine just go for it

you can try it but you may find it may not recognise more than I gig of memory
