They've brought back Bucky, Jason Todd and Uncle Ben. Nobody ever stays dead in comics, and Captain America certainly won't be the first. They probably did it as a ratings stunt - at the end of the Civil War America has turned into a fascist state. Captain America's death symbolizes the death of America. They'll put out another miniseries and at the end the good guys will win and Cap will be brought back. What's annoying is that it's obviously a publicity move yet they're hyping it like it's for real.

Well in away it was. But along time ago Marvel said they would not kill any character unless it wasn't truely a great idea and important for future storys and if they thought the death was senseless. So they most have some special plans to bring Captain America back.
If it's important to future storys then no it wasn't retarded. But if it was to kill an iconic character off for no reason then YES it was retarded.

Civil War is a big event. It will be pretty pointless if the "good" side never had any heavy casualities. I think the death of an iconic character adds much to the event. Cap A always said he would die for what he believed was right, and now he has.

Also, for those of you who say all Marvel characters come back...not all of them do. E.g.'s are Legion and Captain Marvel.

First off, is Captain America really dead? Lots of heroes have risen from the grave, except for Captain Marvel, for some unknown reason.

Yeah, it's pretty pathetic that Marvel had to kill off Captain America because he's an icon. You don't kill icons. Oh wait, yes you do. Superman died and came back.

Does anyone really care that they killed Captain America because his book sales have been lackluster.

Yes. When I think retarded, I think about Captain America's death.

i think it was retarded but they r probably going to do the same thing as Sherlock Holmes. the writer of Sherlock Holmes killed his character in the last book because he didn't want to write anymore. he had to bring him back somehow because the people got really mad. Captain America was massacred but they will probably do something to bring him back because everyone was really mad about it.

I think it's necessary to kill off an iconic character sometimes to revive lackluster comic book sales.

Not as long as he stays dead and doesn't return like the 80's Xmen did all the time.

Well, it's stupid. An icon who just died. Big deal. There are SO MANY icons people can choose! Just only one of them died, and the whole world just stopped- STUPID!
