I think that if someone were truly in love, nothing can break it, even lust. I think love is more powerful, because it does last forever. Lust is just a short-term physical attraction for pleasure and falls way behind love. Love can satisfy someone's emotions for life, while lust will only provide satisfaction for some time. So in terms of happiness, love wins.

Love may last longer But lust is much more powerful. It's human nature. Love is an automatic emotion but Lust is a continual attraction. I guess Lust is an exciting concept in that it depends on the chemistry and as the term says " let the sparks fly" . Lust can be connected with love eventhough they are both seperate in nature. People/ couples can have lots of Lust while being in Love with each other. For example, you can have intensed sexual desires or appetite, lecherousness, inclinations or wishes to be with the one you love in every possible way.

Lust is not only an adulterous or careless thing it has meaning too.

I have to say that both love and lost are very powerful... However lust does not last very long and it is temperal and does not lead to love or anything good... But love lasts forever and is much deeper and lasts much longer then what lust ever will. I would much reather be in love with someone then in lust with them if you know what i mean.

Love is far stronger than lust. It lasts longer, makes people do crazy things (like go to war... check out instances in history), destroy a house to find a missing child, et cetera. Lust is a short term thing. You quite often get over it before the afterglow cigarette is done. Love endures. Lust doesn't. Once the fog of lust clears you either feel, "Okay, I'm done", "Wow, that was embarrassing" or "What did I just do?"

Lasting relationships are those that are built on love - not infatuation or lust. Imagine the person you love in 50 years when they are old and fat. Would that change how you feel about them? If yes, then what you feel now is most likely lust/infatuation - not love.

I think that Lust is more powerful in that it can make a person do things that they wouldn't ordinarily. Love is more powerful in the sense that a person could move a vehicle to save a loved one. They are equally powerful, but in very different ways.

Love is more powerful in the long term, but lust is very intense until it is satisfied, then it dies.
