not in the presence of the kids?
Why should a judge give the spouse the kids because the other spouse drinks a bottle of wine after the kids go to sleep at night.
In my town, you only get what is a parking ticket if you have enough for only one person.
Why is this more imoral than sex with a person to whom you are not married while the kids are there? Why is one OK and the other not?
Thanks for helping me write my paper.

Smoking weed is illegal in every state, at any age. The only exception to this is medicinal purposes (you must have physician approval and this is not common).

If you are over 21, you can drink a bottle of wine at night (but you will have one hell of a hangover the next day).

Regarding sex, that is a personal issue and not one to be judged on a message board. No, I don't think it's immoral.

As for kids being taken away from a parent(s) who smoke weed or use any kind of illegal drug? Absolutely. I have two words for that...child endangerment.

i personally don't think either is OK first lets talk about smoking pot its illegal and smoking pot does alter your judgment and it puts the kids in the situation of if the pot smoker gets busted then what>kids get caught in the fall out.
drinking isn't illegal but drinking a bottle of wine with the kids asleep is not a well thought out idea OK you have just finished off the last of the wine and the baby falls off the bed cracks her head open now your on the way to the hospital are you driving under the influence?no call a cab OK you still show up stinking of wine with a injured child not good on a lot of levels ...
as for having sex with someone with the kids there that's just crazy i don't understand how anyone could even get to the point of having sex when there are kids running around its not just wrong it has a huge gross factor going on..
i think with all the discussion on whats immoral today we have lost sight of the simple right and wrong who is the moral judge and how do the people being judged by Mr. morality know what deep dark secrets he has rattling around in his closet.i say keep it simple when dealing with issues concerning children put them first and the decisions you make when there needs are top priory come easier and the backlash is far less good luck on the paper i hope anything i said was helpful

Have you ever lived around a pot head?I have. The judge doesnt want the kids to become potheads. The bottle of wine. Why do you need a WHOLE bottle. What if the kid gets up falls gets hurt and youre drunk? As far as the weed, the kids WILL eventually see you doing it, tey can see, hear smell and THINK even when you think they cannot. The judge was stupid in choosing the lesser of 2 evils when it comes to the shack up situation.Yet if the shack ups arent doing illegal drugs and getting drunk every night then that is the better of the 2.The worst thing they will learn is to jump in bed with whoever they are attracted to without ANY committment. At least they'll be able to hold down a job tho, and be able to pay their bills instead of blowing it all on wine and weed.gNow,go to rehab.

I wouldn't say it's more immoral than having sex with someone you're not married to, but smoking weed is against the law!!!!!! Whether the kids are around or not it's illegal. As for the the wine, if someone's drinking a bottle, then they need help, it's called rehab.

smoking weed is still against the law, and illegal. if they do weed maybe they do other drugs as well. shows the parent has disrespect for the law, and this may make him or her a bad parent, because if someone disobeys the law, how would they be a good role model to their kids? also they could be putting that child's life in danger if there are drug dealers coming to the home. and what kind of message is this giving the child and how will that child grow up? probably doing exactly what he or she sees the parent do.

The "law" is a poor moral compass(trust me)

It was once LEGAL to own a slave

It is LEGAL to terminate a life inborn

see the problem?

It's the people who bring up the issue with legality...and that's a lame excuse, since alcohol, tobbaco, caffine are ALL drugs, and ALL legal(because the state and fed's have their pockets DEEP into THAT money!!)

Gambling is illegal...but it's OK if you spend your rent on lottery tickets(gambling)...so when there is money to be made, they will find a way to make a buck. Business has no moral compass, or does the vast majority of America.

Don't know where your all from but I can tell you this, it is legal in my state for medicinal purpose only & by percription. my roomate has cancer & couldn't live with out it. it can be now in liquid form, eaten in cookies, & many other ways other than smoking to not bother others around you. Since it was percribed, he doesn't need pills anymore, highly addictive, hard on the stomacke, his appetite is good & is now gaining weight, & now his cancer is in remission. So I have a real problem with that. I would appeal this judges decision if that was his only reason. contact NORML

Betty, Let me say this still in California where I live you can lose kid if your ex. complains to courts about other men around mother with kids present. she can and will lose kids under child protection act!

Now for smoking weed it's an illegal substance and punishable under current local law of the community.

What if? the biggest most scary words ever to be utered in english langue what if ,parent get's high and starts a fire and kid dies?
What if, parent lets in stranger and everyone gets killed?

No one says what if anymore and it's a shame because more family's could be saved if they uttered those words, WHAT IF!

Weed is Illegal and I will not have it in my home and if a family member starts smoking it with a child in custody I would and have called child protect services to get the parent under investigation.
Write your paper, and be sure to include what I said in this post.
