ok ok ok thank you for all your answers, in good gods mane i would never think of marrying one of my own, made a bet wutha guy at work saying that it was legal and he was adamant it was not. thank you all again, i've just won 10 squids! yipeee

You can marry your cousin. For this quirk of the law you can blame Henry VIII who changed the law to marry one of his cousins in the 1500s.

You're treading on very thin ground in the gene pool though, and would be advised to consult a GP about any plans, especially if there is any kind of heriditary diseases running though your family. It's not wise, but it's not illegal. The Royal Family have been doing it for centuries!

Probably OK , if not, challenge the law or marry elsewhere..
There has proven to be no scientific genetic prohibition
against 1st cousin marriages...

Yes legally you can, but genetically it might be bad for the gene pool, and morally lots of people will object cos youre related (even if you only met as adults etc)

depends on your pocket book, if you are loaded it's fine, if you are a commoner then NO. The Royal blue bloods often times marry their cousins because nobody else is fit, or so the snobs think.
