I wouldnt exactly call Texas a dark horse at this point, simply because people are picking them and they lot an awful lot like syracuse of 03 with carmello and a good supporting cast. but they could definitely win it as a 4 seed.

texas a&m has the best shot of anyone seeded 3 or higher, but they are also not a dark horse.

if louisville can get past texas a&m, then they have a good chance at making a serious run at this thing with one of the best coaches and a team that rebounds well and plays defense. they can also score from anywhere on the court. a lot of this has to do with whether or not Juan Palacios is healthy (back spasms). He may miss some more games. It also comes down to them beating Texas A&M (i have them in the final four), but the cards have a shot as they are playing in kentucky (the sportscasters can say what they want about people in lexington going to the game and routing against pitino, but cats fans will be traveling to kentucky's game or at home watching it, so the arena will be LOADED with cardinal fans)

watch out for louisville to make a run at this thing.

other potentials:
va tech (could get blown out in the first round or go all the way to the final four)
arizona (can olson get them to play up to their potential?)
the winner of the kentucky vs. villanova team could have enough talent, but do they have the cohesiveness to get it done? probably not

Anyone who'd call Texas a dark horse is making a wus bet. Here's my case for Tennessee being a SERIOUS long shot at winning it.

I think they have no problem making the sweet 16. There, I think they'll be facing Ohio State, a team they had beat in the regular season if not for missed free throws and a last seconds three by the Buckeyes.

After that, I feel like MEmphis can make the Elite 8, a team Tennessee THROTTLED in the regular season. However, if Texas A&M gets there....bad news for my plan!

After that, I pick Texas to make the final four. UNC is down and Hansbrough is not so hot in that mask. Tennessee has beaten Texas this year as well as last year (IN Texas, no less).

As for the Final, I see Florida making it. The Vols are fully capable of beating the Gators. They split their games this year, both winning at home.

Hey, it can happen!

Arizona or Texas

Well everyone knows Texas will be a real tough out in the tournament with Kevin Durant. So they might not be too much of a dark horse eventhough they are an 4 seed.

Arizona is a real dark horse... but I think they have the talent to certainly win it all. Their team is real talented with versitle players and some nice big men. If freshman Budinger has a good tournament and asserts himself... look out. They definitely could have a chance to beat Florida. And after that the teams in the bracket are mediocore. So they could at least get to the Final Four.

I'm from Louisville and though I'm a Duke fan this team has the potential to go far. Their toughest opponent is A&M, howvever they play just 45 minutes away from Louisville. Duke also has a chance to win it as a Dark Horse partly because we got a 6 seed we didn't deserve and partly because the greatest coach to ever walk a sideline is at Duke. Other than those 2 VA Tech may also go far.

I like the Indiana Hoosiers to upset several team on their way to the final four.

Gonzaga is due for revenge for putting the Hoosiers out last year.

UCLA played in the weakest major confernce certainly not as strong as the big ten.

If the Hoosiers get hot from the 3 point line look out!!!

Nevada- Nick Fatezkas is an all-American candidate and if the draw opens up a little bit- meaning Ohio State getting upset, they can handle any seed above them in that bracket. I only have them making the sweet 16, but a win over a Louisville ot Texas A and M would not suprise me.

Oregon. I don't have them winning it all, but I do have them getting to the Final Four.
