Yes, YES...a very bad experiment...but now MBZ can redeem itself by unloading such a distraction and start producing cars worthy of the name.

I work at Toledo Jeep Wrangler assembly and Daimler will sell Chrysler to Magna Int. on or around April 5.And you say MBZ was distracted by Chrysler?Since they took over Chrysler we has made more profit for that company than they have for themselves.

Its a shame though, Chrysler and Benz were the most like minded of US/German auto makers IMO, I think Chrysler would be in much better shape if they stop emphasizing SUV/truck sales and start making more cars like the 300. Maybe they could make a redesigned Sebring with RWD architecture. That's actually the #1 thing I give Chrysler props for recently, being daring enough to make a RWD car decent enough to compete against other make's sedans while GM and Ford sink too much money into bland FF layout cars.

AGREED!! And to get the facts straight it wasn't a merger MB Bought stock in Chrysler. MB owned Chrysler not the other way around.

Yes it is.I hope Mercedes will join with Toyota and built a diesel pickup truck.Maybe now Mercedes will go back to the straight 6 cylinder engines which lasted so long.

Funny. I'm thinking that the best thing that could happen for Chrysler is to get rid of Mercedes. I have no idea why they ever wanted to own a German car company.
