There are many differences. The Senate is the senior house, its reps are elected for 6 years, while the House Reps are elected for 2. The Senate approves treaties, but all funding bills must originate in the House.

Take a look at the Constitution for more details.

The house and senate are the two chambers of the US congress.
In the house each state is represented proportionally to its population and is entitled to at least one representative. The number is currently fixed at 435. They serve a 2 years term and there is no limit to the time they can be re-elected. The House is considered the lower house while the Senate is known as the upper house. The idea was that the House was of the people and represented public opinion. The speaker presides and is elected by the House members.
In the Senate each state is represented by 2 members so there is a total of 100 members. Senators serve for 6 years so elections are held for 1/3 every second year. The vice president is president of the senate but does not vote except to break ties. This is a more deliberative body being smaller, the terms being longer and it being less partisan.
While the House is more representative (as its name indicates) the Senate is the last barrier for democracy as the president must run most things by the senate for approval.
Both houses' approval is needed for the passage of legislation.
Hope this gives you some insight.

Two different chambers of Congress, with different responsibilities. See Articles I and II (re: treaties, appointments) of the Constiution.

As to elections, Senators are elected at large by the members of a state, while Representatives are elected by district. The same number of Senators per state (2), versus number of Representatives proportional to population.
