There are some countries where the government is so ineffective that it's hardly worth having, but there is government everywhere. Anarctica has no government, but it is also not a country. A country is sort of defined as a political unit with a physical boundary and a recognized government.

That would be called anarchy. That hasn't been common for quite some time now, especially in the civilized world. At this point in time, there are nations without a functional government, which means the country is run mostly by regional warlords, but the government still exists. The primary example right now is Somalia, although the civil war there makes things a little difficult to pin down.

Still, unless there is at least some form of token government, it's probably not recognized as a country.

There is a country.. one of honest, law abiding, god fearing people. There is definitely a country.. the government is supposed to be aboutt the people, but has long since become its own little organization.. it is like a hired management firm who have run amok of the wants and needs of its employers

It is time we fired them all and started again. This time with real people, who care abou this country. not a lot of lawyers and beaurocrats who only care for the almighty dollar and what they can get for themselves and thier friends.

No. Someone will always take charge. The closest you will get to an anarchic government is a country run by warlords, like Somalia.

I would say that all places where there are 50 or more people, there is some form of gov. Even in the deep jungles of Africa, they have people who never seen a white man, yet they have some form of leadership and taxes.
