My husband has been waiting in Guatemala for his papers since Sept. 11. They said 4-6 months... Any ideas of how long it actually takes.

Also. Will he remain fatihful to me, We have a baby together and I really hope that he does and comes back and everything is good. I love him too much. How can I know if he is being faithful???

My husband and I adopted a 3 year old boy from Guatemala about 6 months ago. The paperwork was AGONY! Then around Christmas our church worked with a group in Guatemala to send care packages to a village in Guatemala. Unfortunately, we SENT the packages before Christmas but the packages are just now getting to the kids in March.....due to paperwork glitches.

So, please by patient with your husband if he says he is waiting on the Embassy or on paperwork. Guatemala is VERY slow when it comes to getting things done in that area. Also, alot of the governmental offices are shut down frequently for holidays and also recently since President Bush was in town. I know this because I remain in contact with parents adopting in Guatemala and they remain frustrated with the long waits!

As for "trusting" your husband. Only you know if you can or not. My personal opinion is, give him your trust until he gives you reason NOT to. Believe me, if he has been trying to get home to you since Sept. 11 then he must really want to be with you, because it is not easy to go through all the Guatemalan paperwork process. And the Guatemalan embassy is not known for consistency or speediness.

Good luck.

Look you just have to trust that he is being faithful to you. I am sure the same things are going through his mind about you also. That is human nature. Let's face it, if you don't have trust, you don't have anything. You should not worry, like he about things that you have absolutely no control over. You have none as he has no control over the situation. Trusting and being trusted really adds so much to a relationship. Only if and when the trust is violated should you worry so much.
