I found a couple of cans of paint in our mini barn that have been there for a long time. How should I dispose of the paint without risking harming the environment?

My garbage man takes them if they are dried out. I opened mine and set them up where the kids couldn't reach them, two weeks later they were almost solid.

Take it to your local landfill.They usually have a disposal tank for specific chemicals. You might also check w/ your local hardware store or paint supplier.

Call the Public works - Waste management department in your city. They should direct you to the hazardous waste section. Items such as paint, batteries and tires are treated differently.

mix it w/ cat litter and take it to your local disposal station. Paint is made mostly of minerals and water. You won't harm anything.

take the cover off all, let them dry, and give them to garbage men

Dig a hole and dump it in the ground.
