Here are two examples. another option is to use washcloth patterns and then sew them together. Lots of those patterns are made to showcase different techniques, and they are usually the same size.

Make sure you use the same size needle & same gauge yarn and you will be fine. The book that has a knitting pattern for each day of the year is a great one to find different stitched patterns

I thought I found what you needed but it turned out to be a book instead of a web site. It is called -- 100 Afghan Squares to Knit: Patterns and Instructions for Mixing and Matching Afghan Squares for Blankets and Throws (Spiral-bound) by Debbie Abrahams (Author)

I would make sure I used the same size needle and yarn and use various stockinette stitch patterns for a really neat and
easy to make blanket.
