Sterling silver is only 92.5% pure silver, with the other 7.5% being some other metal like copper, zinc, tin, or (although unlikely) nickel. Your skin may be reacting to that other metal.
I would expect that the metal in the case of your ring is copper. What with the oils in your skin and the salinity of perspiration, it may be causing some of the problem. If the rings were resized, the resizing process may have left some copper oxide on the ring. The rings should be "pickled" to remove this (soaked in a 50/50 water/household ammonia mix.)
Calmly go back to Tiffany & Co and ask them for more information. Making a scene does nothing productive and could potentially lead to much embarassment on your part.

Hi
If it was from tiffanys and you actually bought it yourself from the store and it was stated sterling silver it should not stain your finger. Take it back and they will give you a refund or a new one.
If you however bought it as tiffany from somewhere else like a stool selling tiffany stuff or ebay etc then there are a lot of fakes around so you have to be really careful... if this is the case complain to where you got it from but theres not a lot more you can do.

It's not the fault of the ring, it's just that your body is having a chemical reaction to the silver. This is not uncommon. Silver is not pure, and for some reason whatever Tiffany uses as a mix it obviously has something in it that is leaching out an oxide from your skin. Best thing to do is actually to put clear nail polish inside the ring. It won't hurt the ring and it will keep it from turning your finger.

I would definatly return it right away. I have a platinum tiffany diamond ring and I havent had any problems but for the money you spend in that store you definatly need to make sure your getting what you paid for. You should also take it to another jewelry store and have someone else look at it and see why it might have turned your finger green. Good Luck

Doesn't matter where you bought it you can be allergic to something the silver was casted in. I personally am allergic to copper molds so my finger turns green from anything that been casted from a copper mold. Silver and gold.... You might be allergic to something mixed in the metal or something that the metal was casted with. Just paint it the inside of it with clear nail polish or take it back to the store.
It's a pain because I never know what piece of jewerly will turn me green until after I have it on all day. I have one lovely necklace that turns my whole neck black!!!

Did you actually buy this from a Tiffany's store? if you bought it from someone that said it was from Tiffany, then you were scammed. if it is from the store, take it back and explain. i'm sure they will be happy to replace it.
