Wow. Bold question. I can see all the Final Fantasy enthusiasts attacking this one. But I enjoyed Fable for the open world, well the whole concept of coming across all the people who go about their daily lives, the houses, the way the world and environments looked. I enjoyed bartering, beer drinking, and wives, I just wish it had a little more depth to it. At the same time I enjoy Final Fantasy for the long hours and storyline it has, and the lovely music it has. Fable for the world and freedom to do as you want. Final Fantasy for the actual RPG elements, as character attachment, actual leveling up and see character development throughout. But it would be hard if I actually had to choose which one to go on.

Depends on your taste and gaming habit.
If you're a pc gamer than fable will definitely be your choice. You'll enjoy the freedom that you usually have in pc games with a large environment and many sidequests that help raise money or build up a reputation. You also have the possibility to be on the good or the bad side which influences the flow of the game and thus the ending.
Final fantasy is different (except for FFXI which is a MMO RPG where u can experience the same or even more freedom as found in Fable)The game has a main storyline and you have to stick to it. U may be able to roam around, interact with other characters or level up but that won't change much of the storyline.It's not a bad thing cause usually these games have a strong storyboard and gameplay mechanism that can keep u focus for hours.
The choice is yours. freedom or storyline?
By the way Fable and FFXI are available for both console and PC.

Final fantasy knows what people want in an RPG. I'm not saying Fable sux, I think it's an awesome RPG, but FF is much more experienced. Especially the latest FF.

i personally liked Fable better than Final Fantasy.

final fantasy is a great game but the combat controls get boring after a time but the story is a lot better than fable.also fable has a real time battle and you look forward to killing the enemys without having to weigth for the battle screen to appear.in story wise go for final fantasy but if you want to go killing with style go for fable

fable is a great game that is a game based on what you do in the game.like if you steal something then everybody is mad at you plus there is a whore house in it that you can buy then have sex with the girls.
