This is why I hate both major parties. Democrats suck and Republicans blow.

Wow! you have a lot of things mixed up here. First of all just because someone is a liberal doesn't mean they are democrat. Just because someone is conservative doesn't mean they are republican. Second, as a liberal i believe in responsibility. I do believe Bush should take responsibility for his failures and his corruption. As should Cheney. And, caring for the planet should be everyone's RESPONSIBILITY since it is our ONLY home we have and it's resources are not infinite.

Wow! You sure don't hold back on what you think, do you?!

I am a Liberal--very liberal one, at that--and I have no problem with the word "responsibility". I think everyone needs to assume more of it--for their own lives, and for the lives of everyone else on the planet.

I know many Conservatives who think "environmentally", also. It is only the big corporations (who woo Republicans) that really don't give a fat rat's @ss about how they will leave this planet for their children and grandchildren (and your and mine!!)

It is the politicians who take these words and twist them into "negatives" and apply them to the opposite parties. I believe that there are differences in our views on the way "things" should be handled here and abroad, but I also believe that both Liberals and Conservatives want to see the best for their country and their children.

Stop writing what you "hear" and "read" (especially on a forum like this one which attracts about 10 nuts for every one serious political questioner), as this just perpetrates these misconceptions. Ask us how we really feel!

Actually you are wrong on both counts. As proof I offer the Democratic quest for those responsible in many scandals. And as for Republicans being environmentalists... look at all their efforts to control and protect the Guarani Aquifer for their future.

I disagree, almost entirely on a fundamental level...

I think libs have a MUCH HIGHER level of responsibility... look at what they say... they say we ARE ALL RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYONE...

that's a HUGE responsibility... that we all work together in a community for the overall benefit of everyone in it...

Republican responsibly, really only comes down to selfishness and greed... "I DO WHAT I WANT FOR ME AND MINE"... is that really being responsible... and it CONSTANTLY totally ignores our responsibility to each other and how our actions could affect others...

it's really, if you ask me... immature and a three year old mentality of "it's my toy and I'm going home with it"...

I mean look at what they really say... and apply these thoughts to it...

don't we all have some overall social responsibility... some responsibility to America... and the people in America are the ones that make up America...

I mean even their views toward the environment is "I like what I do now and don't want to change no matter what"... is that being responsible... isn't part of responsibility taking care of the world around you?

Sticks and Stones will Break my Bones, but Words will never hurt me........you heard that? Well, this ole' geezer is a Conservative Republican who donates alot of his $$$ to the Environment and it's salvation. You belief in Politics shouldn't be a basis for your concerns for God's Beauty. Liberals get soooooooo confused sometimes ! God Bless America !!

Well....The new religion these days is global warming. It is baseless and intended to pull the wool over Iraq and its attendants. Global warming and the war in Iraq are the two polarizing issues today. Talk of global warming is meant to change the subject about Iraq.

Bit of attitude there, eh babe?

First of all, I'm more of an independent, if you need to slap a label on me, and I probably exemplify more about personal responsibility that most Republicans.

I also care about the environment, and take several measures in my life to minimize me impact on it.

For what it's worth to ya, it is not a contradiction for someone with "liberal" leanings to be financially conservative and believe in personal responsbility.

That said, I also believe that every man is deserving of a measure of sympathy and forgiveness - until he screws me over and proves otherwise.

Settle down.

I agree to some extent. Party loyalty trumps right and wrong for extremist of both parties. I must say that the neo-cons are a bit more extreme than the liberals these days due to Bush's war.
