The ends only justify the means if the government approves of both the ends and the means.

In other words, the government thinks it can break any laws it wants, to achieve a certain goal. But if it actually likes those laws, regardless of who irrational or unfair, than those laws as unbreakable.

It's called hypocrisy, and it's an inherent part of modern politics.

I really don't get the question but, if you are trying to say that gays being in the military will prevent another 9/11, I am confused. Why don't you try this all over and make your question clear. Also, no matter what you think, it's a no ask, no tell military, so if they were gay and said so, goodbye.

You're comparing two different things and saying that it's one or the other.

Come on, this makes absolutely no sense. Either we have gays in the military, or another 9/11 will occur?

50 compaired to how many other soldiers? That is like 0.00001% of the military...they can serve, just they can not live with their partner...they do not ask anyone about their sex life, so as long as they keep quiet no one knows...it's not like they can get married or anything like that any way...you obviously never been in the military...it is all about good order and discipline...if they allow gays in, does that mean the men can take showers in the women's shower tent? See what I am saying....probably not...is it Spring Break all ready?

Well...what can you say? Its backwards but on the other hand "don't ask, don't tell" is not a secret. I would like to see more arabic speakers of course, but they are military members first.

Most American conservatives would rather see another 9/11 than to openly allow gays in the military. The hate human beings that much. Prooven.

You are referring to the don't ask don't tell rule.

As an Air Force vet, I would not have felt comfortable showering with men who may find me sexually attractive. Does this make me homophobic, or just modest?

Men and women are separated for this reason as well.

Trust me, booting out the gays in the military will NOT lead to another 911, in fact it raises morale.

Coragryph nailed it. The hypocracy never ceases to amaze me. American soldiers are sworn to uphold the Constitution. One of the rights granted by the Constitution is freedom of speech. "Don't ask, don't tell" is a direct violation of that right because we allow heterosexuals to openly express (speak of) their sexuality.

Rights are for everyone or no one.
